Charge® is a biosolution based on chitosan hydrochloride, a natural base substance derived from MSC “sustainable fishing” labelled shrimps. Thanks to investments by ADAMA and its European partner, it is now authorised for use on vines. It is effective against both mildew and powdery mildew.

It can be used in both organic and conventional farming and offers numerous benefits for winegrowers. In organic farming, Charge® reinforces fungicide programmes. Used in conventional farming, it helps to reduce the use of phytosanitary products (lowering the IFT and generating CEPPs – French for Phytosanitary product saving certificate). Its dual eliciting (stimulating plant defence) and fungistatic action is a major asset in preventing and managing resistance to vine diseases. Another significant advantage of the base substance is that it does not leave any residues on the crop.
