Root-knot nematodes of the Meloidogyne genus represent a major challenge for soil-grown tomato production across all regions where the crop is cultivated, from the Mediterranean basin to northern Europe. Their infestation weakens the root system, reduces yields and lowers fruit quality. The rootstocks currently available generally offer only partial resistance to M. incognita, which weakens when soil temperatures exceed 22°C, limiting their effectiveness under summer conditions.

Sanaterra brings a decisive innovation: it maintains stable resistance to M. incognita even in warm soils, where competing rootstock standards lose their efficacy. This ensures a healthy root system for a longer period, allowing crops to be extended later into the season while preserving yield and fruit size, even under high nematode pressure. The impact becomes particularly visible from mid-July onwards, when plants typically weaken and parasitic pressure rises sharply: while conventional rootstocks decline, Sanaterra continues to support vigour and consistent production.

Sanaterra is an interspecific tomato rootstock, exclusively dedicated to tomato cultivation, offering a complete resistance package, including resistance to all three Fusarium races and its new exclusive resistance to M. incognita. Its medium to high vigour makes it suitable for both long and short production cycles.
