Ultra-High Precision Algorithm for Broccoli, powered by the ARA Ultra-High Precision sprayer
Ecorobotix SA
Ecorobotix is introducing its new Ultra-High Precision algorithm for broccoli, a world first in the field of vegetable production. Thanks to its adjustable safety zones (0–8 cm), it enables the use of non-selective herbicides in sensitive crops such as broccoli, at a time when alternative solutions are increasingly limited. ARA is an AI-driven precision sprayer. Its algorithm enables plant-by-plant treatment, reducing herbicide use by up to 95%, and fungicide/insecticide use by 35% to 85%, depending on the growth stage of the broccoli.
Ecorobotix’s Plant-by-Plant™ artificial intelligence also reaches a new level of detection accuracy. It no longer simply distinguishes crops from weeds, but identifies specific classes such as monocotyledons and dicotyledons within the crop. This advanced classification is now available for carrots, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, various cabbages, onions, green beans, spinach, chicory, sugar beet and oilseed rape.
This represents a major agronomic breakthrough for vegetable production.
These innovations open up new opportunities for market gardening: a drastic reduction in manual weeding, a direct improvement in farm profitability, and effective alternatives in response to increasingly strict regulations on the use of plant protection products.
Note: The jury of the SIVAL Innovation Awards 2026 considers this innovation to be very promising. However, it requires further field feedback and trial results before making a final decision for the selection. For this reason, the jury has exceptionally authorised the candidate to resubmit their application next year or the year after (2027 or 2028).
