AXPERA

AMOEBA

AXPERA is the first biofungicide based on an active substance derived from an amoeba (Willaertia magna C2c Maky).
The amoebae are cultivated in bioreactors, harvested continuously, concentrated by centrifugation, then mechanically lysed (“broken open”) and dried. This lysate constitutes the active substance (AS).

This AS is authorised in Europe, classified as “low risk”, and exempt from MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits).

The AS has a dual mode of action: it stimulates certain plant defence genes and inhibits the germination of pathogen spores. It is therefore a true fungicide, officially registered as such in Europe.

Its spectrum of action is broad and enables the control of major diseases: oomycetes (downy mildews) and powdery mildews (vine and vegetable crops), rusts (e.g. yellow rust in wheat), wheat septoria, banana black leaf streak (cercosporiosis), as well as turf fusarium and apple scab.

AXPERA (SC 215 g/L) is a contact fungicide that offers a remarkable level of efficacy for a biofungicide and excellent selectivity. It is easy to use: excellent compatibility and stable storage at ambient temperature.

The product can be used alone or in combination. For example, in vineyards, when tank-mixed with a low dose of copper, it enables effective downy mildew control while significantly reducing the annual amount of copper applied per hectare. It also has the potential to become an important partner for single-site fungicides within resistance-management strategies.
